Storm activity increases into the weekend..
Periods of showers and storms possible through midday Sunday….
A stronger upper level low pressure system circling over West Texas will spin off waves of energy over Central and North Texas today, Saturday, and into Sunday before exiting the region late Sunday afternoon.
These “pockets” of energy along with abundant surging Gulf moisture will kick up scattered showers and thunderstorms periodically through that time period. The potential for severe storms is low but isolated stronger storms will be possible with lightning, gusty winds, and heavy downpours the main threats.
Since the upper system will be consistently sending out waves of energy, best timing on storm initiation will be.. just about anytime! Scattered showers and storms will develop then calm down then redevelop. Plus outflow boundaries from heavier rainfall could initiate new activity.
If any isolated storms do approach severe levels, warnings may be issued.
